Meet The Governors

Kirstie Lee – Trusted Appointed Governor – Chair

Kirstie joined the AGB at Ridgewood School in September 2023.

Kirstie comes from a varied mixture of Public, Private and Voluntary sector employers historically but has been involved in the Education Sector since 2018. She is currently the Chief Finance Officer for a Multi Academy Trust in Rotherham, working with the CEO to manage the finances to ensure efficiency and contribution to effective outcomes for students.

Kirstie volunteers on the AGB as she is part of the Ridgewood community with both alumni, current and future Ridgewood students in her family.

Kirstie is the link governor for Finance and supports with elements of operations.

Kieron Town – Parent Governor - Vice Chair

Kieron joined the AGB in November 2023.

Kieron has been an engineer for 30 years, including training and mentoring fellow engineers and apprentices. 

Kieron was a former foster carer and is a volunteer with a specialist charity supporting Kinship carers and with the youth justice service. 

Kieron is passionate to help all children achieve the best from their time in school and to become independent young adults.

Kieron is the link governor for Health and Safety.

 

Hazel Ashton – Parent Governor

Hazel joined the AGB in December 2022.

Hazel is the link governor for Behaviour and Attendance.

 

 

 

Dominic Carlin – Staff Governor (Teaching)

Dom joined the AGB in June 2017.

Dom has worked at Ridgewood for over a decade, teaching history and politics, and is currently the Curriculum Lead for those subjects. Dom is deeply committed to the students, staff, and the wider community. As a staff governor, Dom brings his experience and passion for education into the role, and seeks to ensure that the voices of colleagues and students are heard.

Michael Woodstones – Trust Appointed Governor

 

Michael joined the AGB in September 2024.

Michael has over 20 years experience in the education sector, engaging in a wide range of roles from classroom teacher, subject and faculty oversight, teaching and learning to safeguarding and Senior Leadership. As well as this, Michael has almost 10 years of governance experience. Prior to joining the education sector, Michael worked in a wide range of roles, encompassing food production, logistics, retail and finance.

Michael currently works in a pastoral capacity at a Doncaster Secondary school, while also retaining a Trust member role in a primary academy trust.

With a strong interest in key stage transition, Pupil Premium and social mobility, Michael is keen to continue supporting young people in achieving their goals, whatever their starting point.

Michael is the link governor for Pupil Premium, LAC and Personal Development. 

Martin Haynes – Trust Appointed Governor

Martin joined the AGB at Ridgewood School in July 2025.

Martin was originally born in Doncaster but moved away at an early age, as his father was posted overseas as a serving member of the Royal Air Force.

Martin has previously served as a parent governor, and an LEA appointed governor in several Schools in Hertfordshire, before leaving the UK to work in the Middle East for ten years. He has recently returned to the UK and has settled in Yorkshire.

Martin’s background is predominately in the retail industry, and he has skills in people development, finance, internal communications, compliance and risk assurance.

Tricia Fullerton – Staff Governor (Support)

Tricia joined Ridgewood Governing Board in December 2025.

She has worked at Ridgewood for 20 years and became the school Child Protection Officer?Deputy DDSL in 2013.

With 30 years of experience in the education sector, Tricia has gained valuable knowledge through roles including mentoring disaffected students at a KS4 Pupil Referral Unit, working as a Home/School Liaison Officer, and a significant period attached to the LA Traveller Team. 

As a staff governor, Tricia brings this passion and wide-ranging experience to the board.

Tricia is committed to the students, staff and wider community and passionate about supporting Ridgewood's continued growth.
