Please be patient and considerate
While school is closed, you can get in touch with us via the Contact Us facility, or by phone on 07423 474622 between the hours of 9.00-15.00 Monday – Friday in an emergency. Please remember that we are operating on a skeleton staff and will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
A student's username and login for the VLE is the same as the login and password they use to log on to a school computer.
We are currently receiving a high number of emails to say that students are unable to login to the VLE and find work there. Please bear with us and be patient and considerate as we work through these. Work is available on the VLE for all students, and they should follow the instructions on the document 'Accessing Remote Learning on the VLE' to find the work. If they are unable to log on, the Curriculum Subjects area of our website has links to several useful educational websites in the meantime.
Please be patient and understand that the school is currently dealing with a huge number of challenges. Resetting VLE passwords is just one element of this, so we ask for your understanding. Our school community is very large and we are operating on a skeleton staff who are under a tremendous amount of pressure.
We understand that you want to be able to help your children do meaningful work during the school closure, and that you are also under pressure as you try hard to continue to educate your children at home whilst balancing many, many other things. Thank you to those parents who are continuing to be supportive of the school as we do our best to provide work that can be completed outside school, and support those who are in school. Our staff are on the front line and are doing all they can to support our students. However, we ask you to understand that these are exceptional circumstances and that learning cannot and will not simply carry on as normal.
Please continue to visit the Remote Learning section of our website for all updates and information during the school closure.
If you think your child needs to come in to school for emergency childcare, please get in touch via Contact Us.
The government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, so schools can remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend. Ridgewood School will be open to support key workers’ children only when they have no other childcare option.
Schools are closed for public health reasons and this childcare is an emergency measure only and must only be for when you are working and not if you are working from home.
