Stage Invasion Year 2 launched
Bands and artists are invited to take part in this year's competition.
Building on the success of last year’s project, the Music department are excited to announce the launch of ‘Stage Invasion: Year 2’.
Stage Invasion Year 1 involved 50 young people from six Doncaster schools and colleges and culminated in a sold out event at Doncaster Dome where Ridgewood band Villis won the event and secured their first single release.
Over the coming weeks students at Ridgewood will be invited to get involved in this year’s Stage Invasion project.
To support participants this year, Doncaster Council are offering a range of opportunities including free rehearsal space at Bentley MyPlace, and band/artist development sessions at Supanova Studios and Stage Invasion FM.
This year’s launch event was held at MyPlace in Bentley. Part of the funding from the project has supported this venue as a free-to-hire rehearsal space designed to provide young people aged 14-21 an accessible and safe environment to develop and learn music performance skills.
We would like to say a big thank you to Villis, Stage Invasion winners from 2019, who performed two of their own compositions live at the launch event.
