Awards Evening celebrates Ridgewood's best of the best
Over 250 students recognised at Awards Evening.
Last week saw our prestigious annual Awards Evening.
The evening celebrated the successes of 253 outstanding young people from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. Several students were awarded prizes for outstanding progress and academic excellence. Others received awards for sporting achievements, performing arts successes, achievements in The Duke Of Edinburgh's Award, and partaking in community and charity work projects. Our school values of excellence, integrity, teamwork and enjoyment were demonstrated by all the students who were awarded prizes.
Leadership is also a cornerstone of our ethos. It enables both students and staff to be the best they can be. Many of the prizes at the Awards Evening were given to students who have also demonstrated, through this year, outstanding leadership:
57 students are now either Silver or Gold accredited with the SSAT Leadership Programme the school delivers.
208 prefects from Years 7 to 11 work across a variety of sub-committees including fundraising, charities, mentoring, welfare, finance, environment and planning Ridgewood House events.
Over 320 prefects from Years 7 to 11, and 75 leaders from the Sixth Form, have supported at whole school events such as Open Evenings and Parents’ Evenings.
20 Year 12 students have also been involved in mentoring programmes in the lower school.
All these students are role models, not only in the school community but also within the local community.
We are very proud of all our students at Ridgewood School and in the Sixth Form. Congratulations to those students who were recognised at the Awards Evening, and all the students who demonstrate the school values every single day.
