National Youth Theatre places for Ridgewood students
Congratulations Lucy and Brook!
Ridgewood student Lucy Roberts looks set for a stellar spell in showbiz. After stealing the show in Ridgewood's recent performance of Little Shop of Horrors, Lucy is now setting her sights even higher.
She has been successful in auditioning for membership of the National Youth Theatre. Lucy was up against over 6,000 other young people between the ages of 14 to 25 who attended the auditions nationwide. Only 600 successful auditionees made it, and Lucy was one of them.
She now has the opportunity to attend their members-only summer course in London at the end of July, and will then become a permanent member until she is 26.
The National Youth Theatre is a world-leading youth drama organisation. Its young members get support with developing all aspects of drama and theatre. It was established in 1956 as the first youth theatre in the world. Since then, it has nurtured the talent of hundreds of thousands of young people. Famous alumni include Dame Helen Mirren, Daniel Craig and Kate Winslet.
This is an amazing and well-deserved opportunity. Lucy is excited and can't wait to take part in this prestigious course in the summer.
But the excitement doesn't stop at Lucy. Her Let's Act drama school friend Brook Exley, a fellow Ridgewood student, has also made the selection.
Congratulations to Lucy and Brook. We can't wait to see you on stage and screen very soon!
