A level success for Ridgewood students
A level students at Ridgewood School are celebrating some outstanding results after two years of hard work.
After a long wait since the summer’s exams, students have received their results and are enjoying another set of top grades. All of Year 13 have spent two years working towards new more rigorous A levels, and have seen their work pay off with students securing university and apprenticeship places of their choice.
Thirty one percent of all grades were A* or A and one in ten students achieved A* or A in all of their subjects. These students include Kaitlan Hadfield who achieved 3 A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and James Pickersgill who achieved A* in Maths and Further Maths and A in Physics. Sophie Ball achieved As in Biology, Chemistry and Further Maths and an A* in Maths and will be studying Biochemistry alongside her old schoolmate Sam Beddoes who achieved As in Biology and Chemistry and an A* in Maths. Sunny Chen has secured a place to read Dentistry by achieving A*s in Biology and Maths and an A in Chemistry.
Both Kaitlan Hadfield and Sam Beddoes have secured places to read Medicine, and James Pickersgill is heading to Durham to read Maths. Paige Shaw, Alex Tordoff and Maddi Fern, who also achieved A* and A grades across the board have all secured places at Leeds University. Amy Cassidy and Declan Clark are both heading to Warwick University after they also secured A* and A grades in all subjects.
Headteacher Maggie Dunn said ‘I’m delighted for the students. The results they have achieved are testament to their dedication to their studies during their time in sixth form. I wish them all every success in the next stage of their education.’
Congratulations to all the students, and to their teachers, who have given them outstanding support, for another successful set of A level results.
