Road safety recognised by Ridgewood students

Drama Limelights students awarded 'Best Team' for road safety performance.

Last Thursday, seven girls from the Drama Limelights enrichment group were accompanied by Miss Walker and Miss Flaherty as they made their way to Sheffield City Ballroom to celebrate their winning road safety performance.

After some tough competition from their fellow Limelights, the girls were voted by Ridgewood students as having created the best drama performance to promote road safety awareness. This achievement came after several months' work alongside other groups rehearsing for the competition.

During the awards ceremony, which celebrated the work of each school involved in the competition, a number of individual awards were presented to schools and students whose performances and dedication really stood out. Limelights were thrilled to receive 'Best Team' and were really proud that Ridgewood's value of 'Teamwork' was evident in their performance.

Part of the celebration event also included a live performance from 'Britain's Got Talent' stars Jack and Joel, as well as a stunning performance from Mirrorman. All the students loved seeing these and were inspired for their own future pieces.

Congratulations to all the students involved, and a huge thank you to Miss Flaherty for all her work with the Drama Limelights group.
