We value a rounded education, so our students have access to an extremely wide range of extra-curricular opportunities. We firmly believe that students get out of school what they put in to it, so we encourage our students of all ages to get actively involved in the many clubs on offer.

Instrumental Lessons

Ridgewood Music Department offers the following instrumental lessons:

• Woodwind (Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon)
• Brass (Cornet, Trumpet, Trombone, French horn, Tuba)
• Upper Strings (Violin, Viola)
• Lower Strings (Cello, Double Bass)
• Percussion (Marimba, Xylophone, Glockenspiel)
• Drum kit
• Guitar
• Bass
• Vocal

We encourage all students to learn an instrument and finances should not be a barrier to learning. Lessons therefore are subsidised by the school but full funding is available for those from low income families or on a case by case basis. Please enquire with Mrs Moran if you require financial support. 

Lessons happen on a weekly basis for a period of 35 weeks either shared or individual and take place in the music practice rooms with Doncaster music service staff.

The instrumental timetable is located opposite the practice rooms where students should check their instrumental lesson time.

Instruments can also be loaned from the Doncaster music service if required.
