Ewan's 10k raises 2.2k

Congratulations to Ewan Murgatroyd who recently completed his first 10k event, raising over £2,200 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

When Ewan's older sister was unexpectedly diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of only 17, Ewan decided to help her fight the condition by raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, who were supporting his sister. Kay, who previously attended Ridgewood, is still battling the disease, and Ewan remains a constant support and inspiration to her.

Ewan decided to tackle the Sheffield 10k in October this year, and completed the race in an impressive 54 minutes 52 seconds. Even more impressively, his fundraising generated £2,260. All the money raised will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust, who have supported Kay and thousands of young people like her who are fighting cancer. Ewan said 'It's a fantastic charity and they make the lives of people who are going through this terrible thing a lot easier. They provide smart televisions and Xboxes in patients' hospital rooms, and offer to send young people to a conference at St. James' Park. This costs £500 per person, but the Teenage Cancer Trust pay for the whole thing'.

Well done to Ewan for his amazing fundraising and his dedication to supporting such a worthwhile charity.

If you want to donate to the Teenage Cancer Trust, Ewan's fundraising page is still open and can be accessed here
