Careers

We are proud of our careers provision, having won recognition from the Careers and Enterprise company for our meaningful encounters with employers. Our careers advisors offer one to one career interviews, e-mail advise and drop-ins to ensure you get the information you need to progress to higher education, vocational study or employment.

Progress Careers

Jane is in school every Wednesday, based in the Careers Office, upstairs in the Post-16 Centre.

Shannon is in school every Tuesday, based in the Careers Office, upstairs in the Post-16 Centre.

We are here to help you make good post-18 choices for yourself, and we offer the following:

  • One to one career interviews  to look at pathways after sixth form and your longer-term career aims (see Post 16 student services to arrange for an interview)
  • Email advice — drop either of us an email with any career questions you might have
  • Drop-ins — drop in and see us in the career's office at any time when we are on site and not conducting a careers interview

A one-to-one interview is a great opportunity for you to think through your ideas for the future and make a plan of how to get to where you want to be. If you don't know what you want to do next, we can support you to think through all the available options and make informed decisions. We support you to think beyond your immediate next steps and help you to develop career planning skills.

Progress Careers advisers are impartial, so we won’t push you to choose one option over another, and we don’t ‘tell’ you what you should do. Our role is to support you in making your own decisions.

Finally, we don’t know everything, but we do know where to look!
