Kirstie joined the AGB at Ridgewood School in September 2023.
Kirstie comes from a varied mixture of Public, Private and Voluntary sector employers historically but has been involved in the Education Sector since 2018. She is currently the Chief Finance Officer for a Multi Academy Trust in Rotherham, working with the CEO to manage the finances to ensure efficiency and contribution to effective outcomes for students.
Kirstie volunteers on the AGB as she is part of the Ridgewood community with both alumni, current and future Ridgewood students in her family.
Kirstie is the link governor for Finance and supports with elements of operations.
Julie joined the AGB in February 2023. Julie has a background in education, having 22 years experience in Primary education in various SLT roles including headship. She is currently a Careers Consultant supporting secondary schools and colleges in Rotherham. As alumni of Ridgewood School, with a passion for inspiring and raising aspirations of young people, Julie is proud to give something back to the local community through volunteering as a Governor. Julie is the link governor for Quality of Education and Careers.
Hazel joined the AGB in December 2022.
Hazel is the link governor for Behaviour and Attendance.
Adam joined the AGB in February 2023.
Adam is a parent governor with 2 children currently attending Ridgewood in Year 9 and a step daughter who graduated from the school in 2022. He has an IT background and currently works in the Optical industry as a Training Consultant for a company who provides software for Independent Opticians. Graduating from Ridgewood in 1999, he is happy to be in a position to give something back to the school. Adam is the newly appointed link governor for Ridgewood's Sixth Form.
Dom joined the AGB in June 2017.
Dom has worked at Ridgewood for over a decade, teaching history and politics, and is currently the Curriculum Lead for those subjects. Dom is deeply committed to the students, staff, and the wider community. As a staff governor, Dom brings his experience and passion for education into the role, and seeks to ensure that the voices of colleagues and students are heard.
Over the years, he has seen, first-hand, the school grow and improve, and is excited to be part of its continued development.
Debbie joined the AGB in September 2024.
Debbie has a career in education that spans over 32 Years. She had experience of Headship within Secondary, Primary and Special settings. Now a Consultant in Education, Debbie is eager to continue to offer her skills and services as a Governor at Ridgewood. She is passionate about offering the best educational experiences and outcomes to all children.
As our Lead Governor for SEND and Safeguarding at Ridgewood, Debbie will work hard to use our vision and values.
Lauren joined the AGB in February 2024.
Lauren joined Ridgewood in January 2020, bringing nine years of experience in secondary education, specialising in inclusion and safeguarding roles. Dedicated to supporting students, she focuses on promoting positive student behaviour, attendance, and punctuality at Ridgewood. Additionally, she manages admissions, personalised learning, and alternative provisions. Lauren is the SLT Link for Year 9.
Kieron joined the AGB in November 2023.
Kieron has been an engineer for 30 years, including training and mentoring fellow engineers and apprentices.
Kieron was a former foster carer and is a volunteer with a specialist charity supporting Kinship carers and with the youth justice service.
Kieron is passionate to help all children achieve the best from their time in school and to become independent young adults.
Kieron is the link governor for Health and Safety.
Michael joined the AGB in September 2024.
Michael has over 20 years experience in the education sector, engaging in a wide range of roles from classroom teacher, subject and faculty oversight, teaching and learning to safeguarding and Senior Leadership. As well as this, Michael has almost 10 years of governance experience. Prior to joining the education sector, Michael worked in a wide range of roles, encompassing food production, logistics, retail and finance.
Michael currently works in a pastoral capacity at a Doncaster Secondary school, while also retaining a Trust member role in a primary academy trust.
With a strong interest in key stage transition, Pupil Premium and social mobility, Michael is keen to continue supporting young people in achieving their goals, whatever their starting point.
Michael is the link governor for Pupil Premium, LAC and Personal Development.
