Preparing for Post 18 Applications

Find out more about how our sixth form students use the UCAS Hub to develop their next steps.

Thursday 21 April 2021

Over the coming months, during daily sessions with their Personal Tutor and in the Inspire workshop, which Year 12 students take part in every Thursday, we will be sharing further information on Post 18 opportunities, whether that be with regards to:

Last week Year 12 registered on the new UCAS Hub, so when it comes to exploring subjects, considering apprenticeships, shortlisting their final five universities, and writing a personal statement or CV, our students will be fully prepared. With their Personal Tutor they have also been creating their CV and considering the competencies and skills they can celebrate with employers at interview. The current key focus of competency development is communicating with clarity and listening with empathy.

Sixth Form students also have a Unifrog account which provides a fantastic research tool for universities, higher apprenticeships and the world of work and allows them to record their research in one central place. It provides a wide variety of resources to not only support students with their CV or personal statement writing and developing their interview techniques but also shares ways to build competencies and skills to stand out from the crowd in their future Post 18 applications.
