Ridgewood Young Performer 2018 crowned!
Congratulations to the finalists and winners at this year's event.
This year's Ridgewood Young Performer 2018 was a hotly contested event. Finalists spanning KS2 to KS5 were vying for the title, with entries in the categories of Drama, Dance and Music battling to be this year's champion.
The standard of performance was exceptionally high, and after all the performers had demonstrated their talents and the judges had deliberated, the overall winner (and the finalist of the Music category) was announced as Year 11 student Marcus Bagley-Hodkin. The judges were wowed by his superb self-composed piano and vocal performance entitled ‘Her’.
In the other categories, the prize for Drama went to Year 8 student Abi Creed, and the Dance category winner was Year 7 student Darcey Allen.
A huge well done is due to all the performers involved, and special thanks also goes to Josie Harrison and Poppy Wild for their superb compere skills. They showed such outstanding leadership and ensured the whole event flowed smoothly. Thanks also to Tara Fearn and the Performing Arts team for organising the event, and to the guest judges.
